Emergency continued..

(continued from an International Emergency...) In fact as the Roman Empire began to crumble and Europe began to enter the historical dark ages, it was the Irish bards and poets who had often proved to be sources of light in a changing europe - even before the Irish Christian revolution of the 4th to 6th centuries ad. Kings and rulers from as far away as Germany and even beyond were known to have sent their prodigies and heirs to schools in Ireland in the Skryne valley and Tara complex (one early written history and geneology also mentions a marriage between one ancestor and an Egyptian princess called 'Scota' shortly before the Hyksos invasions of Northern Egypt) . Christianity had been slowly seeping into the nation from as early as the first century AD (mostly as a faith carried by it's european and roman slaves) but it had remained very much a tiny minority despite many similarities, cultural ideals and links shared in the ancient oral traditions of both the celts and the jews ( -the poetic and prophetic style and terseness in the early written histories of both nations do seem to share an almost identical style and complexity despite being translated from seperate languages and seperate corners of the supposed known world. The celts even had their own 'book of proverbs', or 'triads' as they were then called by the celts, that again shared remarkable similarities in their cultural ways of thinking and 'moral' wisdoms-). It was eventualy one of those escaped Roman slaves who brought about one of largest christian 'conversians' and 'revivals' in European history on the hill of Tara itself. During a time in Irelands history when the Druidic priesthood were being increasingly viewed as boring and hypocritical ( in much the same way that the Judean Pharisees and Saducees were when Jesus was feeding the poor on the hills and mountains of Isreal) , both Kings and clansmen alike were intrigued at the idea of a personal relationship and experience with a real God that didn't involve endless rites and rituals. This very 'personal christianity' that overturned an unconquerable nation within the space of a generation was full of the miracles that most only read about in the gospels and new testament, and with it Ireland again entered a new golden age of prosperity and learning that again infected the rest of the British Isles and mainland Europe - with similar miraculous tales- as they built schools and colleges throughout the continent and beyond.
The last time that Tara was threatened by mankind was at the begining of the last century when British and Jewish historians, following a slightly more ancient, Judean link, had become convinced that the Ark of the Covenant lay hidden in Tara's mounds . Their reasoning for this was the disappearance from history of the prophet Jerimiah, and Baruch, his friend and scribe. The last entries by Baruch of their exploits were written by him after they had escaped the aftermath of Nebucadnezer's Babylonian invasion by fleeing to Egypt with many other refugees.Jerimiah had prophesied to the jews that trouble would folow them into Egypt if they fled there, but that Baruch and Jerimiah would escape with their lives. The rumour was, that after the prophesied troubles did indeed follow the Jews who fled to Egypt, Jerimiah and Baruch fled again ,eventualy ending up in Ireland where they saw out the remainder of their lives. The discovery of ancient bronze age horns and trumpets at the site and nearby led some historians to believe that they may have been from Solomons Temple and that the missing Ark must also have been brought there by the duo and hidden among the tombs and temples. Because of the discovery of underground caves at Connaughts ancient capitol far to the west, the Jewish and British excavation team had decided to use dynamite to blast their way into the rumoured secret passageways under the hill of Tara. WB Yeats heard of the plan and rallied thousands of volunteers to protest and protect the complex untill the explosive laden teams decided against destroying the hill and eventualy abandoned their search for the Ark at Tara. The current threat is far more serious and has already reaped untold damages to a site that should always have remained protected under the founding laws of the Irish constitution.
It also seems that the Irish government have sought to play down the damage done to their heritage by using the media to label protesters camped at the site as nothing more than a tiny minority of society drop-outs and international trouble makers. The truth is that despite the supposed 'hippy', pagan, and 'romantic druid' elements that have been used by the media to demean and unvalidate the seriousness of the protest, the vast majority are simply ordinary people from all corners of the globe who are simply proud of their heritage. Many are both traditional and evangelical christians and most come from highly educated backgrounds are in fact Doctors (of medicine and the sciences), professors, teachers, archeologists, social anthropologists, historians and professionals of all walks of life. The history of mankind from its roots to the developement and birthing of all the worlds major civilisations has often resembled a large jigsaw puzzle - and it has only been in recent times and through a number of archeological, geological, linguistic and biological sciences that any of it has stood a chance of being solved. Tara and the secrets hidden there for thousands of years constitute a large and crucial slice to that puzzle, and it's ancient connections with the very roots of the worlds other famous civilizations ( Sumer,Egypt,Babylon,Greece,Rome etc) often proved a much greater interaction between the nations on the world stage than had previously been recognised . It has also made anthropologists seriously rethink their perceptions and assumptions about the levels of inteligance and ingenuity previously attributed to 'stone age' man.
The vandalism and distruction will continue unless enough voices are heard and we would earnestly urge everyone , regardless of their percieved national heritage, race or profession to contact and urge the Irish Government, the NRA and Meath County Council to either stop or re route the Skryne valley motorway away from the Tara complex and to ensure it's protection and recognition as a World Heritage Site whose archeological remains and history holds a very direct bearing on the early formation and devolopement of many other european and world cultures and their histories. Two more videos are incuded below, one from 'Earthwatch' with interviews and information from the multi national, cultural and professional protest camp (below left) along with another from the Tara Foundation, another one of the many non profit organisations requesting the Developement of Tara as a world class heritage excavation site instead of a building site( below right) .
