The Social Nutwork... networks worth a visit for any social nut.

If you've been browsing our other pages ( especialy our bits for bands) then you may have noticed that we seem to be continuosly refering and encouraging creative artists to use Social Nutworks (...no it's not a mispelling of 'network' and if you check some of the profiles on these sites you'll soon see why...) . The chances are you're probably feeling a little sick of us harping on about MySpace so we promise not to mention them again.

Also, as we have made a promise to find and research the best talents, tools, software and digital products online it only seems fair that we offer or point to usefull alternatives for our viewers on both sides of the artistic fence.

So here is our little guide to some other social sites that could prove immensley beneficial to any artist regardless of age, medium or genre....

A highly visual, artistic and easy to use social site well worth exploring - especialy for artists and photographers, is Piczo. The site is partnered to Photobucket - the picture sharing and storage site- and is also especialy geared towards teenagers.Sites and profiles are very easy to make and there is an enormous wealth of outstanding art, games and graphics freely available to use and upload to your own sites and profiles.

One word to accurately describe Piczo is Dazzling. Take a peek and you'll soon see what I mean...(remember this site is mostly for teenagers -so if your name is Gary Glitter you probably won't be very welcome)

What do you do if you're on your first world tour and one of your band goes AWOL at the last minute? Wher can you find a local replacement at the last minute without begging your audience..? How about asking Bandmix?

Bandmix is a paid or free subscription based online musicians classified with a social networking twist. Rather than just typing an add saying "Band needs bass player" to get lost and never read on a page of a hundred others you can upload video and music samples on your bandmix profiles so people can actualy see what they're letting themselves in for before they apply. Likewise,if you're looking for a new band to join you can show off your skills and , if your realy good become the interviewer instead of the interviewee.

The network is fairly new yet covers all aspects of the music industry and ,if you make full use of the video upload options, it shouldn't take too long to get job results ..or new likeminded friends. Bandmix currently serves local and international musicians in Canada, The United States , United Kingdom and Eire

and we'd very much like to swear at them for doing it before us. Envy aside, Bandmix is definately well worth exploring for any musicaly orientated mind.

Another valuable tool for independant and signed musicians is MUZO.TV Perfect for televising your sounds online, Muzo attracts the eyes like a smooth glossy magazine and plays back your high quaity videos in your own 'channel' where you can interact with your fans as often or as little as you want. Other advantages for musicians are revenue sharing an advertising, royalties and apparently even the use of free recording fascilities...?

The 'barstewards' are also very good at making other webmasters green with envy! See why here...

The next step up in social networking for Piczo people is BEBO...it's a teeny bit more grown up and isn't full of 8 year olds pretending to be older than their big brothers...so you dont have to worry about being pictures of 'fuzzywuzzy dog' suddenly appearing on your site when your trying to look cool.

If you have a face, you could allways try shoving it in a book, Facebook doesn't need much of an introduction so here's the link....
